High Road Scholars and Plant Spirit join together for a regenerative nature experience for ages 8 and up in Sebastopol, an opportunity to learn and reflect on the water and plant practices of the Indigenous Global South. Stewarded by Francisca Santibaez of Plant Spirit, this sojourn to los Templos de las Aguas is beautifully described here by Francisca:
“Templo de las Aguas was born from a deep reverence for the healing wisdom carried in water and plants, coupled with practices of South American Folk Medicine & Curanderismo- ancestral traditions that honor the body, heart, spirit, and Earth as one. This outdoor bathhouse is not a spa. It is a place of healing, transformation, and where plants help us remember what we have forgotten.”
This day will include:
Self Care Product Making for participants to create and use flower steams, skin supportive oils, herbal teas for drink and wash.
A Nutritive Lunch pulled from the color and generosity of Francisca’s garden
A Reflective Journal Time for our participants to slow down and take note of the importance of taking care of ourselves.
Participants can bring their bathing suits for their comfort and the bath space will be safe and private for each person to have their own quiet time.
Francisca was one of Hanan’s formidable mentors and is an artist at creating energetic and physical spaces that sing of outstanding safety, warmth, and beauty! This is a unique opportunity for High Road Scholars to work with one of the most long standing South America Indigenous healers in our area. Truly an honor.
