Embark on a transformative journey to Kona, Hawai‘i designed for ages 12 and up, where participants will unplug from the digital world and reconnect with the earth through immersive experiences rooted in indigenous Hawaiian arts and practices.. Surrounded by the awe-inspiring beauty of Kona, each day will offer opportunities to tune into our senses, engage with native plants, and participate in nature-based learning that awakens curiosity and reverence.

Our home base for the trip will be the Akahiao Nature Institute, a breathtaking educational sanctuary nestled within rich botanical grounds filled with medicinal, ornamental, and edible plants. Participants will sleep in enchanting, well-cared-for tent lodgings beneath a constellation of laughing stars, creating a sense of deep rest in nature. We also will work deeply with the artists and culture keepers of the Donkey Mill Art Center. This trip marks our first national offering, led by two seasoned educators with a combined 50 years of experience. A detailed packing list and orientation sessions will be provided to support families in preparing for the experience, with time built in for questions.

We are honored to offer this journey of cultural immersion, creativity, and connection to place—and can’t wait to welcome you.
